ZOMBIECALYPSE

The Story

Falkenwinkel, Newfiveland: It actually appears to be just a casual weekend. Kris C’s intention was to set up a nice Paintball event like he’s doing since the mid 90’s with a lot of passion. The last meeting with some old friends was long time ago so he decided to set up a EuroBigGame over Ascension Day.

As always the news spread quickly and lots of players from all countries of Europe find their way in the small and sleepy village of Falkenwinkel in Newfiveland. Everything seems to go as usual until a careless marshall commits a momentous mistake at the White Team’s entry point.

He bypassed the time till the first game of the day starts by watching a zombie-movie on his mobile phone. But careless and maybe still boozed from the last night’s beers he forgets to turn on his firewall. Suddenly a zombie bites him and he is infected. The surrounding players are still a bit of sleepy and don’t recognize what happens around them. A couple of minutes later the whole team consists of undead which are busily looking for new victims.

Initially, the field marshalls are amused about the white team screaming “braaains” when the marshall horn goes. Accordingly the horn goes off every 15 minutes and the marshalls are having a great time because of the screams.

Game director Folger H. however gets perplex when he sees one of his marshalls stumbling around the field at noon. He yells at him and tries to disabuse him, but the marshall reacts in trying to bite him. Only an immediate reflex saves Folger from being bitten by the undead marshall. In a jiffy he calls for backup and all together they overbear the striped zombie. Roped in bonds he gets moved away and the basement of a building quickly converts into a testing laboratory. As time goes by the first results of the zombie testing reach Folger.

The good news is that the ongoing game on the field avoids the increasing of the infection. Water-based paint has the effect that infected persons act like normal people for a short period of time. This is also the reason that nobody in the organisation team or the camping area recognizes the occurrence. But after half an hour the infected ones turn back into zombies again and try to bite people to make them their brainless company.

As time goes by again good news come up from the basement lab. The series of experiments on the zombie marshall brought some great results. A mixture of hop and garlic salt will make the zombies fall asleep. After their awakening they’ll be the person they were before the bite, with no memories about what happened in the meantime.

Folger quickly gets in radio contact with Kris C. They agree that Folger will let the games continue while Kris can organize beer and garlic salt flavoured barbecue meat. They plan to start a players BBQ party to end the infection immediately.

Now everything depends on Folger. The red team must hold its ground against the white zombies. Will they succeed? If not, the infection will spread out to the whole of Newfiveland and thoughout Europe via the players that leave on Sunday!
